I was thinking after prod's career-ending injury, what if a player is just one hit away from 3000 hits or 1 win away from 300 and then suffers an unfortunate career ending injury, would it be fair to try to make a come back?
Say if I want to come back from a career ending injury I wil have to give up 40 hitting rating points, kinda like a player coming back after a tommy john surgury. He wont be good any more, but he will have a chance to get the stat that he wanted. Just wanted to see what the general feel is on this subject.

I have no problem with that in general but where is the Border 2999 Hits or 2900 or anywhere between. I also would say the Player has to wait 1 year befor he can play again and he must give up the half of his ratings. That would reflect a major Injury. We talk about something that almost killed your Career.

I will see what everybody thinks about this, and if everyone likes it, I will put that into action.

I agree with what everyone is saying. But I bring up one food for thought. Take Prod for example. If he were at 290 wins, at now is recreated and stuff. look at his age. His player is now 17. That gives him a chance to pick up his first career, he could hit 600 wins. So just keep that in thought.

600 wins?
Help me out here. Not sure how he's going to get 600 (or even 400) wins. He is starting over, FYI. None of his previous career stats are kept./

NVM. Just reread it I get what your saying now. Give up talent and turn the career ending injury, into a season ending injury. and come back next year. I like the idea as long as we still have a choice of a new person, if we so desire.
One flaw I see with this whole situation. Prod died, and came back 2 days later better. I thought it was this way, since it isnt I think it should be that noone can sign him until the offseason. were trying to incorporate a little bit of realism in here. he died. came back 2 days later, better and on another team. at least make people wait until the offseason to sign with another team. my .02 cents.

The better has nothing to do with it. I generated his player the same way I generate all players, and as you know the ratings are all random.
If anyone gets a career ending injury, they will have two choices. The first being they can recreate their player, and start all over. Or they can choose to make a comeback, and will have to sit the rest of the current season and sacrifice half their ratings.

I like that idea of being able to come back.
I think it should be 12 months though at least that a person is gone though. If a player is injured on let's say August 19th, they shouldn't be able to come back until August 19th of the following season.
Another possibility is having them miss all of the current season that they are in plus all of the following season as well. That would really put up a harsh penalty, as 'playing god' and coming back from a serious injury really isn't commonplace, and really the only people who would do this are milestone chasers or people who simply really like their player.
